The Participants Process

I decided to record the process of participants in a series of screenshots. This is because the process is the most important aspect of this project, the interaction of participants is what we like to see.

As you can see there is a chat box where the participants can communicate and decide on the theme they want to go down and what they're drawing. When observing they took turns drawing each part of the laptop, while simultaneously chatting and explaining what they're drawing. This is the final product they ended up with. When speaking to the participants via chat they explained that this theme was based on them theme apart as well as home, as they showcased a scene which represented a video-call. This witty and very detailed drawing is a perfect example of interaction and participatory storytelling. There is so much to unravel in this piece and you can see the two art styles combining.

After creating this piece me and the two participants had a chat about their experience. They described the process of drawing as 'fun and peaceful to do'. They told me how interacting with each other via the chat box was quite easy and simple to use as well as very enjoyable. The only struggles that came up was with the layers, one participant wanted to fill in the table with the fill tool however the lines were not on their layer therefore had to ask the other participant to fill it in. This is a problem we cant really fix as the site does not allow more than one person on a layer, however me being there observing the process allowed me to clear up any confusion in real time.
