Participatory Storytelling

For this project we would like to work with a large community to create an artistic piece, where virtually using or creating a site like Aggie.io, async.art or DADA everyone can paint a part of a virtual canvas and therefore being able tell their own story. This story being related to their experience during the pandemic that we all are in. This gives them a space where they can freely and artistically portray their feelings with the hybrid new media of digital artistry. Hopefully ending with a result with narrates multiple stories by real people, where they can see a combination of different portrayals of experiences and a vast majority of art styles in one place. Celebrating the creation of art in hard times like this pandemic and joining a community together, and potentially going global. Similarly, these works below involve a bunch of digital artists who have collaborated to make one single image. This is what we plan to achieve but on a much larger scale, with even more artists and perhaps giving a contemporary media twist. The first inspiration below is created by 22 artists who contributed a layer each to this piece ‘The First Supper’. We can see all the different styles combined to create an extremely detailed piece which mimic's that last supper. The second piece was created by 14 artists in a similar way but using the program DADA, this having a more seamless and similar art style. We really enjoy how both of these pieces look, and I think having even more people involved would create something even more extravagant.
